Named one of the Top Ten Best "New" Horror Authors by Horror Novel Reviews, award-winning novelist W. Potocki brings you fast-paced horror.

A monster proves a legend true.

Jen Nichols is living large and ready to enjoy the summer. She's riding the unemployment train when a chance encounter with Hillboro's newest resident alters her plans.

Jen insists she was attacked by a monster, but everyone, including the police, discount her claim--right up until a dead body surfaces. It's half-eaten and discarded in a ravine, and the first clue that something very evil is hungry.

A vandalized cemetery located hundreds of miles away holds the key to solving the mystery. The digging up of an unmarked grave awakened more than the creature thought to be at permanent rest. Who and what it is is shrouded in folklore, and only a mother still grieving over the loss of a child understands the implications. Someone needs to stop the murders, but it just might be too late.

Trillingham by Wendy Potocki

There is something terrorizing Hillboro, bodies are found mutilated, half eaten and killed. Jen Nichols is certain there is something out there, not human committing these heinous murders. But no one believes her, not her boyfriend Phil or the Police.

The legend around Hillboro is there is a "monster" that can't be killed who is committing the crimes. Then a cemetery has been vandalize, a grave dug up, could there be a connection? One woman (Mary) seems to know the answers and she is determined to try her best to stop the killings and put this "creature" back to rest forever.

A well written fast paced horror story. I loved the plot, very original. I feel that those who love a good horror story will enjoy Trillingham.

(*This book was given to me as a gift)
Something macabre is running loose in Hillsboro NJ. When Jen is attacked in a mall parking lot, she is saved by a group of teenagers exiting a store. She can't shake the feeling that her attacker was both human and animal. A string of similar incidents have the town on edge. The police are mystified. A survivor speaks of a monster. Then a mysterious woman shows up claiming to know the murderer's true identity.

The plot certainly has enough suspense; I would classify the genre as horror. I do feel the characters lack depth. Too much time spent on describing the sexual encounters of the protagonist, and some very graphic horror details. This book would probably appeal most to teen and young adult readers.
I really got into this book from the first pages!, I think it would make a Great Movie!
I don't normally put a book down when I start it. I put this one down twice and picked up another one while reading it. Although the plot wasn't entirely predictable, it also wasn't terribly surprising, either.
I enjoy reading new authors, and the ones who are generous with their work, providing their works for free. This was an enjoyable reading experience. I will seek out more from this author.
Jennifer Nichols is a young girl whose only problem, up to now, is that her unemployment insurance is about to run out. THEN, she makes a fateful visit to the Hillboro mall...& her ideal life is sent to Hell in a designer handbag...with matching shoes. "Trillingham" is a fast-paced heart-stopping tale which doesn't stop grabbing your interest until the final(?) terrifying end. I especially loved the banter between Jen & Phil, her roommate with benefits...chef, lover, confidante, all encased in a leading man persona to die for. Her gang of friends have also been skillfully written & provide a story both satisfying & suspenseful. I highly recommend "Trillingham" to true lovers of horror...but, don't say I didn't warn you...stay away from shopping malls at night.
I'm still not sure after having read the story how TRILLINGHAM came to be, but he is a changed man..a monster. Evil and a killer,he is to be feared. He has a memory and uses his senses to track his victims. The police and most people do NOT believe in monsters so he or it , is able to elude capture. But someone from the past with a grudge of her own has not forgotten about Trillingham and works to destroy the EVIL ..PERMANENTLY. The book is a THRILLER you will enjoy if you are a fan of SUPERNATURAL HORROR. I RECOMMEND.
